SUZUKI ASSOCIATION OF THE AMERICAS RECORDER TEACHER DEVELOPMENT BOOK 1* (American Recorder Society Workshop Member), Approved by the SAA and ISA. Marin Lutheran Church

TRADITIONAL AND SUZUKI STUDENTS ARE WELCOME! ADULTS TOO! ASPIRING MUSICIANS WITH NO EXPERIENCE ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND. WE SPECIALIZE IN SUCCESSFUL BEGINNINGS.
ARS Levels: Pre-Beginner—Professional. Scholarships: ARS deadline, postmark by
April 15. SAA Scholarship deadline, postmark by Feb. 5.

Faculty: Jennifer Henderson, M.M. Flute; Kathy Caldwell White, M.A. Recorder
and SAA Registered Teacher Trainer, ARS Instructor, San Francisco Early Music
Society Member/Instructor. Both teachers have performed and taught music
for more than 25 years in the USA and internationally.

Curriculum for students: Suzuki Recorder School and/or Suzuki Flute School,
Published by Alfred.com; chamber music of the Renaissance, Baroque, Folk, Celtic, music and movement, note reading. The Suzuki Recorder School features the world-
renowned early music performers, Marion Verbruggen, recorders; Arthur Haas, harpsichord; Mary Springfels, viola da gamba performing on the companion CDs for the books. The Suzuki Flute School CDs feature Toshio Takahashi and Mr. Yamashita.

Children, (age 3-18), parents, and teachers are invited to participate in special classes which are part of the required observations by Suzuki teacher trainees.
Tuition for families or adult students: $15. / 30 min. class

*Teacher trainee pre-requisites include Every Child Can! (6 hour course), active SAA membership, be a high school graduate, an acceptable Audition on DVD (2 months prior to beginning of the Course), or pending if less than 2 months prior to Course. Part of this specific Book 1 Course will be offered on-line with Skype. There are 28 hours of class time and 15 hours of observations required. (Courses following Book One include 15 hours of class time and 8 hours of observations).
