My son is almost 7 months & I have been married for going on 8 years.....recently moved from Central Valley to Rosa. I'm currently unemployed in corporate America, but I am a full-time mother, wife & homemaker. If you asked me to describe myself in less than 5 words, I'd say "Earth mother"...if I ask you to do the same, what'll you say! :)
Welcome Heather! I'm so glad you found us - Santa Rosa AND santarosamom.com!
If I were to describe myself in 5 or less words, it would be "perfectly imperfect mama". :-)
Thanks for your reply & the welcome :)
I like Crissi's answer... wouldn't that be all of us? I would have to say I'm "just like my mom". Even though I swore as a teenager I wasn't going to be as strict and my kids would be able to do what they wanted. Now, I'm raising mine with the same rules I was raised with... and I'm sure my 13 year old hates it just as much as I did at that age.
Welcome to Santa Rosa Heather! I've lived here my whole life, with the exception of the 1 year in Michigan and 6 months in Fremont. I left twice, came back both times, and will never leave again. :)
Explain what you mean by Earth mother? I'm interested. :)
Mom to Josh (2) and Kaiden (5 months)
I try and live a natural & environmentally sustainable life...I chose an unmedicated l&d, kept my son intact, breastfeed, co-sleep, babywear, & cloth diaper...if you've seen the Youtube video "Sh*t Crunchy Moms Say", that's pretty much me...lol...aside from that, I really, REALLY heart the Earth :) :) :)
Cool! I'm looking to start a yahoo group for santa rosa moms who breastfeed/co-sleep, baby wear, AP, I'll let you know when I get it together, if you're interested.
Sounds great! Please do...I'm ALL about AP ;)
Done! I posted the link on the general discussion board - but here's one just for you!APSantaRosa
Two mommies have joined with their babies (a 4 mo and 7 mos) - we met at the park yesterday and it was so fun to watch the babies play! Let me know if you'd like an invite. :)
And oh yeah- myself in 5 words or less - hmm... I like Crissi's answer. All of my ideas are just variations of that. ;)
Ooh-ooh I got one! "Striving for Harmony and Sanity"
. . . of course, striving doesn't mean *obtaining* ;) Maybe "struggling" would be a better word choice to represent myself ... I feel like the Daffy Duck of moms at times, but not nearly as entertaining. ha!
